Left by Workawayers (Christoph & Renata) for Agriturismo Borgo Piazza
In November, we experienced three intense and enriching weeks on Borgo Piazza. We were welcomed warmly, openly and very hospitable. For the self-cooking we got a lot of products from the farm and kitchen. The beautiful apartment with fire pit was very cosy and comfortable, especially on the few cool evenings . Our work around the house: help with the olive harvest, provide firewood, cut back lavender and shrubs, preparing the garden furniture for wintertime and weeding in the vegetable garden. It was varied work in a diverse terrain, in lush growing nature and with a wonderful view to the sea. Our work in the house: organizing and setting up in the “Laboratorio”, conceptual work for the catechismo, assistance with the laundry, assistance in the canning of fruits and vegetables. All in all an impressive insight into the Calabrian culture, cuisine and its pleasures.
Elvira generously gave us space to contribute our resources. With her industrious activity and constantly new project dimensions and ideas, she also challenged us. With her great openness and willingness to reflect, we were able to hold many interesting and in-depth discussions – probably also favored by a comparable age. At Borgo Piazza we not only got an impressive insight into the company and its history, but also found a friendship with this project and its people. Elvira and Marco, Donatella and all employees, we thank you very much for the hospitality and wish you and your projects all the best and good luck. We would be glad to meet you another time, either in Switzerland or in Calabria.
